true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.’* But here’s something crucial—*knowing* God isn’t just
intellectual; it’s relational.
When I looked up the word ‘know’ in Logos Bible Software, I discovered it means ‘to know
experientially’—to understand through direct experience and observation. So, if we substitute that
meaning into the verse, it reads: *‘And this is eternal life, that they experience and observe the only true
God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.’*
